It’s time to say Yes to the Dress or rather say yes to a Uintah Winter Guard Prom Dress Collection Drive. The Uintah Winter Guard is gathering clean, gently used or new dresses, shoes, as well as suits for an upcoming free Prom dress event. They are also encouraging people to bring whatever accessories they might have to aid in bringing new life and new looks to the selection of dresses. Wendy Girot, the coach of the Uintah Winter Guard, shares that “last year the high school winter guard members had a blast participating with the prom dress drive.” The girls on the team wholeheartedly agree. Piper Runnels and Megan Hermann say it best. “We felt like Cinderella trying on different dresses,” shares the girls. “It was a great event and we are excited to share this experience with others.” The team has already started collecting items and will continue doing so until March 26th. Donations can be dropped off at the Uintah County Library or the Uintah County Heritage Museum. You can also bring dresses the day of the event to trade. So plan to be someone’s fairy godmother and spread the magic of joy, fashion, and prom by donating what you can.
