Uintah High Athletics were proud to announce that the U’ettes are rising to the challenge of 5A competition: Uintah High U’ettes finished 4th overall this past weekend at the highly competitive Rocky Mountain Drill Invitational at Alta High School. The U’ettes dominated in the individual portion of the competition. Sophomore Leaira Wilson won the 5A classification Drill Down, junior Ashley Glazier placed 4th, and freshman KayLee Bell placed 5th. “This is amazing to have three U’ettes in the top 5 for Drill Down,” said coach and proud parent Amanda Wilson. In the final solo competition of the season, Addisyn Yack placed 2nd in the Lyrical Division and 3rd in Contemporary. Kaylyn Sizemore placed 6th in Lyrical. “We couldn’t be prouder of our soloists this year,” coach Kim Jenkins said. “They steadily improved at each competition and grew in poise and confidence.” Out of 23 5A drill teams, Uintah sits at 10th place. “We think we will be right in the mix for a top 2 or 3 finish at region if we bring the energy and confidence, and execute to precision and showmanship,” coach Caitlyn Gurr said. “We look forward to a great competitive day at region.”
