Uintah Wrestling hosted the 53rd Annual Tournament of Champions this weekend in Vernal. Uintah Boys Wrestling hosted more than 30 teams from Utah, Wyoming and Colorado at the Western Park and came away the Champions after earning 307 team points to Juab’s 221.5 points for second place. Rykan Hacking, Brody Rhoades and Caden Young each won their respective classifications while Maddax Hacking and Parker Streight finished second. Another local champion in the boys tournament was Union’s Tucker Roybal. Uintah Girls Wrestling hosted nearly 20 teams from Utah, Wyoming and Colorado at Uintah High School and also came away the Champions after earning 251.5 points to North Ridge’s 192.5 points for second place. Leena Sharp, Sadie Rhoades, Sydnie Dick and Issa Laamouri each won their respective classifications while Kenna McCauley, Sophia Richens and Ciele Richardson finished second. Union Girls Wrestling had a great weekend of competition as well, securing third place with 190 points. Union’s Evie Davidson and Dahlia Silva each won in their respective classifications. Duchesne Girls Wrestling won 5th place with 162 team points. Duchesne’s Breann Ivie and Ariana Jones placed 2nd in their respective classifications.
