The newly formed Uintah Special Service District 1 stays busy managing what was previously the focus of 3 separate districts but which are now combined into one. SSD1 Director Cheryl Meier gave a thorough overview of the district’s Transportation happenings during the Vernal Chamber luncheon on Tuesday. Transportation has three main road projects at varying stages. Seep Ridge Road is due for routine maintenance and a chip seal. Construction is scheduled for this year covering 56 miles and costing $6.5 million dollars. Design work to realign and widen Red Wash Road is underway. Construction is scheduled for 2024 covering 4.4 miles and costing $8.5 million dollars. Finally, plans are in place for a total reconstruction of 7500 East. Construction is scheduled for 2024 covering 2.2 miles and costing $2.5 million dollars.
