Many people are aware there are some issues going on behind the scenes of Uintah County since the release of the financial audit performed by the Office of the State Auditor. What may be lesser known is that among these is a conflict with the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office. Uintah County Commissioner Bart Haslem shared with Evans Family Media that the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office has notified the commission of  their intent to file a discrimination complaint against Uintah County regarding “optional  401k contributions” that were offered to other county employees but not to staff members  of the Sheriff’s Office. Commissioner Haslem stated that these benefits were awarded  through the Clerk Auditor’s Office without the Commissioner’s knowledge or approval.  Evans Family Media will share additional information on the discrimination complaint as  it becomes available.
