Uintah School District held their first State of the District event on Monday morning at the Uintah Conference Center hosted by the Uintah Schools Foundation. The event celebrated student creativity and achievements with the Uintah High jazz band and a choir made of elementary students performing. Superintendent Dr. Rick Woodford presented as well as the other members of the District office administration. Student Services reported an increase of positive school-wide behavior supports, strengthening of safe-school processes, and more school culture walkthroughs. There have been exciting improvements to Special Education in the District with the addition of the Applied Behavior Analysis team, doubling the number of Speech Language Pathologists, doubled Occupational Therapy services, and working towards an inclusive model in all schools. Business Administrator Jason Johnson spoke last and stated that simply put, the State of the Uintah School District is Strong. It is hoped that the State of the District event will be held annually.
