The Vernal Middle School Auditorium was bursting with Christmas music on Monday from a popular group in town performing a Christmas concert in support of local schools. Gentri, the Gentlemen Trio, took the spot this year as the concert guest for the Uintah Schools Foundation. For years the Bar J Wranglers performed for the Foundation’s annual concert fundraiser but last year the famous group hung up their hats and officially retired. This left the Uintah Schools Foundation Board of Directors discussing what should be done moving forward and it was suggested that, if they were available, the Uintah Basin community would love the opportunity to see Gentri in concert, especially during the Christmas season. Not surprisingly, they were right and community members braved the snow and loved every minute of Monday’s show. Board member Mike Sorenson says everything went phenomenal and the money raised will go right back into local classrooms to provide needed supplies not provided for in the schools budgets.
