This year’s recipients of the ‘Teachers in Excellence’ award were announced during the Uintah Schools Foundation State of the District event on Tuesday morning. The Foundation’s Executive Director Shannon Deets presented the award to Ashley Elementary kindergarten teacher Kelsey Hartle and Eagle View Elementary 1st grade teacher Mindy Rasmussen. Portions of the nominations were read and praised Kelsey Hartle as an organized teacher who is very good at communicating with her students and providing great structure and routine for her class. It was shared that Mindy Rasmussen has high expectations of her class and is steadily working at a goal of having 100 percent of her students proficient on a portion of the state mandated reading test. Each was presented with a check for $500 dollars made possible by the endowment presented to the Foundation by the Showalter Family. ‘Teachers in Excellence’ is a way the Uintah Schools Foundation celebrates local excellence in our schools.
