The Uintah School District is warning the community that a scammer is after their money for supposed Uintah sports fundraisers. The District shares that “Uintah High School is aware of a letter that has been sent to local businesses that claims to be raising funds for a 2024 Uintah High Spring Sports poster. The letter from AAA Sports Publications of Las Vegas, Nevada, appears to be a scam. Neither Uintah High School nor Uintah High Athletics are associated with AAA Sports Publications. An online search shows fraud complaints against the company, which has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau.” The District shares that they are also aware that local businesses may have received calls from an individual seeking money for a Uintah High School Spring Sports poster. “Business owners have reported that the caller asks for their credit card number and other personal information. Again, this behavior is consistent with a scam. Uintah High School and its Athletics Department will not call you to request your credit card information.” If you have received a letter or call, please contact local law enforcement and report the suspected fraud. The Uintah School District Policy 004.0610 governs fundraising and donations. The policy can be viewed by linking through uintah.net.
