One of the issues that parents and guardians had in the aftermath of Tuesday’s unsubstantiated threat against Vernal Middle School was that they were not directly notified of what was going on. On Wednesday, the District apologized for the error and stated that while the District did attempt to send a SchoolMessenger phone call and email at 6:47am on Tuesday, no message reached the intended recipients due to user error on the District’s part. Wednesday’s message also stated: “To avoid similar issues in the future, we have scheduled additional training for SchoolMessenger users. The training will take place next week. As part of the training, we will implement a procedure to have SchoolMessenger users run a report immediately after they send out a message to ensure the message went to all intended recipients.”
