The Uintah School District held its Opening Institute on Friday and several schools were recognized for recent achievements. Uintah High School was recognized because last year’s freshman and sophomore classes scored above the state average in all assessed areas on the 2024 ACT Aspire assessment. This growth is especially worth noting as the same assessment in 2021 scored below the state average. Maeser Elementary was also recognized as the school scored significantly above the state average in all assessed areas for the 2023-2024 school year, beating the state average by double digits in 6 of the 8 assessed areas. Finally, Discovery Elementary was recognized for scoring at or above the state average in all assessed areas at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, which was the first time the District has had that happen at any of its schools since the beginning of the RISE assessment. Well done to those on their deserved recognitions.
