Amazing members of the community were recognized at the Uintah School District’s annual Employee Recognition Banquet held on Thursday night at the Uintah Conference Center. Employees were honored for 20 years, 25 years, and 30 plus years of service in the District. The three recognized for over 40 years were Ruth Ann Nelson and Anna LeFevre for 41 years each and Jenifer Gudac for 46 years. Twenty employees were also recognized as they are retiring at the end of this school year. Superintendent Dr. Rick Woodford praised the dedication of those being honored, including those retiring this year. “Tonight as we honor our outstanding educators let us remember the magic each one creates within the walls of their classroom and beyond,” shared Woodford. “The awards we present are a small token of appreciation compared to the events and lasting impact our teachers and staff have on our students and the community…Thank you for your unwavering dedication, your passion, and your commitment to excellence in education.” The evening concluded by recognizing Uintah Middle School science teacher Jason Pierce as the District’s Teacher of the Year and Naples Middle School librarian/media specialist Elisabeth Balch as the District’s Classified Employee of the Year.
