The Uintah School District has distributed a letter from Superintendent Rick Woodford concerning the Coronavirus situation and precautionary measures implemented to ensure safety of students and staff. The District’s efforts right now include providing information about the illness and how to report suspected cases to the local health department and health care providers. Letters that include factual information from the CDC are being sent home from school Friday and all families are asked to review the information to be better informed and prepared. Further guidelines the Uintah School District will be observing moving forward include: All students with a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater will be sent home and not readmitted to school until they are fever free without medications for a full 48 hours. If a child presents with a fever of 100 or greater the District recommends calling your medical provider or the Utah Hot Line at 1-800-456-7707. If your child tests positive for Coronavirus you are asked to contact your student’s school immediately. Parents will be allowed to medically excuse their children from school without a doctor’s note by just calling the school and reporting symptoms. For now, medical clearance will not be required for a child’s return to school, however, parents are asked to be cautious and considerate to others and keep sick children home while symptoms persist. Next Friday, March 20th, all schools in Uintah School District will dismiss early for teachers to prepare in the event of a school dismissal or closure. A copy of the March 13th letter from Uintah School District is posted on the Uintah School District Facebook page.
