The Uintah School Board has filled the District 2 vacancy created by the realigned district boundaries. The Board met on Thursday and appointed Denise Maynard by unanimous vote as the newest board member. “I have served on the Uintah Middle School Community Council for three years and I have seen many changes happen within the district,” Maynard told the board in her letter of interest. “I love working alongside administrators, teachers and students to achieve the best overall communication and opportunities.” Maynard was sworn in after the meeting by 8th District Judge Clark McClellan. The changes to the district boundaries map moved board President Dave Chivers to be the District 1 board representative and board member Harlan “Scoot” Wilkins to be an at-large board member not assigned to a specific district. Maynard’s appointment as the District 2 board member runs through the end of the year. District 2 voters will decide during the 2022 November election who will serve as the District 2 board member starting in 2023.
