Uintah High School shared that on Tuesday, May 18th, Uintah High students in the Teaching As A Profession (TAP) program signed letters of intent to become educators. “These 10 young scholars are entering the teaching profession at a critical moment, as enrollment in teacher programs has dropped in recent years, the current teaching force is aging rapidly, and student enrollment is increasing. Uintah High celebrates these future leaders. Three years ago the state of Utah introduced a new CTE Pathways program called Teaching As A Profession. The course is designed to introduce students to the role and positive influence of an effective educator and prepares them for college level work in education programs.” Students signing are: Rebecca Stearmer, Mattison Bowen, Sadie Young, Andria Gilley, Hannah Roberts, Kalli Calder, Marni Cheshire, Seviah Despain, Emilia Kinsey, Brianna Hunt, and Addison Laris.
