The members of the Uintah High School Student Council are diligent and hard working and it has paid off in a big way. It was announced on Wednesday that the group has been recognized with the 2024 National Gold Council of Excellence award by the National Association of Student Councils. Ronn Nozoe, CEO of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, praised the Uintah High Student Council, stating that they have “gone above and beyond in elevating student voice to ensure they are establishing a positive climate and culture, as well as fostering academic and social growth for all.”
Events that the student council have played a part in over the last year include a fundraiser car show, Vernal’s Night to Shine, the Ute Indian Tribe’s Trunk or Treat event, blood drives for the American Red Cross, planned dances and other events for the student body, and much more.
“This national leadership award shows how much our student council cares about our school, and how hard we work to make it a better place,” shares Uintah High Student Body President Ryan Mansfield. “I truly believe each and every student council member wants to make a difference and this recognition reflects the impact of what we have tried to achieve this year.”
Congratulations to these hard working student leaders!
