The Uintah High School Student of the Week is Phillip Melander, nominated by Mr. Winder. “Phillip always comes each day prepared to soak up anything we are learning in class,” shares Mr. Winder. “As an exchange student from Sweden, he works hard to overcome language barriers that exist, and asks lots of questions to help gain understanding.” Congratulations Phillip Melander, Uintah Student of the Week! The Ute Athletes of the Week are volleyball players Drew Sunkees and Ellie Hartman, nominated by Coach Smuin. “Drew and Ellie are the best examples of senior leadership,” shares Coach Smuin. “They have been positive role models for all of the girls to practice hard, play hard, and cheer for all. They have shown the dedication it needs to create a fun, winning atmosphere in volleyball. They each have accepted specific roles on the team to help the team win the Region title.” Congratulations Drew Sunkees and Ellie Hartman, Ute Athletes of the Week!
