Uintah High School welcomed Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion as a guest of honor and keynote speaker at a special school assembly on Thursday morning as Bennion has been selected as the school’s 2023 Distinguished Alumnus. Many in the community may not know that Bennion is a Vernal native having attended Maeser Elementary, Vernal Middle School, Vernal Junior High, and Uintah High School which he graduated from in 1990. He met his wife Heidi while attending college and they eventually headed to the Kansas City metro area where he received his master’s degree in public administration and the pair raised four children there while he worked in city management for 20 years. In 2017, Bennion and his family made the move back to his hometown of Vernal where he accepted the position of Vernal City Manager. “The Distinguished Alumni Committee reviews all nominations and discusses the candidates who best meet the criteria, which include not only professional success, but the impact the person has had in their community,” Shares Uintah High Vice Principal Scott Mansfield. “The committee unanimously agreed that Quinn meets all the criteria and is an outstanding representative of the alum of Uintah High.” Congratulations Quinn Bennion on this well deserved recognition.
