Uintah High Boys Wrestling Wins 4th Consecutive State Championship

The Uintah High School Boys Wrestling team won their 4th consecutive State
Championship over the weekend with 287.5 team points. Freshman Ethan Sharp,
sophomore Rykan Hacking, and junior Brody Rhoades all won their first individual titles
and Junior Michael Alexander won his third individual state title. Mason Holt, Christian
Hartle, and Caden Young finished 2nd in their respective classifications; Peyton Hogan
and Jaxon McCurdy finished 3rd; Chase McCurdy placed 4th; Trevor Angus and Talon
Stevens finished 5th; and Dawson Shupe finished 6th. Michael Alexander was named the
4A Wrestling State Championships Outstanding Wrestler for the lower weights and
Coach Phillip Keddy was named the 4A Boys Wrestling Coach of the Year.
Congratulations to the team, coaches, and support staff on an amazing season! Union
boys wrestling competed well with a 4th place finish in the 3A boys state tournament.
Tucker Roybal won a state title while Deagan Davis placed 2nd, Jed Chatwin and Grady
Roybal placed 3rd, and Kabryn Whiting placed 4th, with other team members taking 5th
and 6th place. The Union girls wrestling team also placed 4th in their state tournament.
Evie Davidson won a state title while Reagan Bastian, Kabree Duncan, and Dahlia Silva
each placed 3rd, and Boydee Gravatt placed 4th, with other team members placing 5th
and 6th. Well done to all the wrestlers on representing the Basin so well!
