Uintah High School has many extra extracurriculars and clubs doing great things. Uintah High FBLA attended region competition at UVU last week. Eight students competed in more than a dozen events with Chapter President Taylor Kurtz placing in the top five in five events, finishing in the top three in two of those events. State competition is coming up in March. Uintah High Robotics also recently competed. Four out of the six UHS teams made it into the playoffs at the tournament in Heber, shares the announcement. Joseph Head and Bridger Taylor’s robot “Servo” formed an alliance with another Utes team “Sir Toppler” by Brooke Sattley and Helen Spackman, before their two robots were outscored. Veldon Jones and Ryder Ottley with their “Green Machine” also won three of their six preliminary matches to enter the playoffs. Alfred Sheffer, Julie John, and Uela Sheffer made the playoffs with their robot, “Carl Abacus Robinson.” These teams both chose to ally with robot teams from Wasatch before being eliminated.
