Uintah County Travel and Tourism announced Monday that the Buckskin Hills Ski and Snow Tubing Hill has officially opened to the public. “We had several hundred people come and enjoy the opening day [on Monday],” shares Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp. “[We had] lots of locals from Uintah, Daggett and Duchesne County [as well as from] California, Wasatch Front, and even a family from Portugal that had never played in the snow before.” Coltharp says they have 25 seasonal employees that are helping run the hill and all are looking forward to a great season. The facility will be open all this week until Friday at 3 pm and then open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting January 7th. Pending the right conditions for snow, it will remain open until the end of February.
