Uintah County’s ‘Play Like A Local’ campaign launches today with videos and social media featuring 8 faces to represent the fun that can be had in Dinosaurland. Uintah County Tourism and Events Director Lesha Coltharp got the ball rolling on the campaign about a year ago with the idea to feature a variety of locals sharing what they love to go and do in the area. “I wanted it to be these 8 different personas,” explains Coltharp, “so that everyone can find the person they connect with and they can follow that itinerary and plan an awesome vacation to Dinosaurland. We were able to get someone from all different age groups. We have children, a teenager, mom with kids, retiree, college age students, a high adventure person, a nature lover…and made 8 short videos that takes you on an adventure with them doing all the things that they love about being a local to Vernal.” The campaign launches today and the videos will be shared on social media and the Visit Dinosaurland YouTube channel. All the videos were filmed within 45 miles of downtown Vernal. “We hope it will bring new people to Vernal to go on vacation and they’ll be able to find their person and really be able to connect with the community and have that feeling of being part of something,” shares Coltharp. “There is nowhere in the world that you can find everything that you can do here in that short of a distance.” Learn more on social media at Visit Dinosaurland and This Is Vernal.
