Uintah County Sheriff’s Message: Share The Road

by | Sep 9, 2024 | News | 0 comments

Uintah County Sheriff Steve Labrum has a timely message for the public: Share the road. “This is such a great time of year to go out walking, riding bicycles, or going for a drive,” shares Labrum. “With that being said, we all have a part in ensuring the safety of everyone using the roadways. Pedestrians need to remember to walk as far away from the travel lane as they can. Too often we are seeing people walking on the fog line or even right in the travel lane. Bicyclists also have a role in sharing the road. If there is a bike lane, please use it. If you are riding in the travel lane, be aware of your surroundings and vehicles driving in both directions. Drivers need to be alert at all times. Slow down when you maneuver around a bicycle or a pedestrian, obey the speed limits, and above all don’t get distracted.” Sheriff Labrum emphasizes that everyone has a role to play in sharing the road and encourages all to do their part.
