Uintah County Sheriff Steve Labrum took to social media over the weekend to offer some advice on preparedness. He applies the principle of needing to be prepared to multiple situations. First, when adventuring in the outdoors make sure someone knows your plan or better yet, take someone along with you and be prepared for any type of weather conditions or time of day. Sheriff Labrum also emphasizes the need to maintain your vehicle and have what you need in the event of a flat tire, getting stuck, or breaking down. He then shifted gears to think on a grander scale. “Nationally we are still seeing supply chain issues,” shares Sheriff Labrum. “Will the supply chain keep up or will it fall behind like it did at the beginning of the covid pandemic? On a world scale we are seeing economies shaken and war. With the current issues, being prepared at home is just as important as being prepared when you go on an adventure. Have extra food and water on hand in your home. Have some cash in case you cannot access your bank. and keep your vehicles full of fuel. As citizens of the United States of America, the constitution guarantees certain rights. Know them, exercise them, and don’t ever let them be infringed upon!” To read the entire message, visit the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
