Uintah County has lost a portion of representation it would have had at the upcoming State Republican Convention. Uintah County GOP Committee Chairman Brian Gorum shares that the number of state delegates representing Uintah County has been decreased from 58 to 44 due to the lack of support shown for the Republican Gubernatorial Candidate during the general election last November. Many Uintah County Republican voters wrote in other candidates or left it blank and as a result, Uintah County will lose influence at the state convention. Gorum explains that registered county Republicans are urged to always vote for the Republican candidate, even if your desired candidate lost in the primary election. The Uintah County Republican Party is preparing for the neighborhood caucus meetings on March 8th when 180 county delegates will be elected. Uintah County’s precinct map has changed this year so all are encouraged to check the map for your precinct to learn your meeting location.
