The Mail Only Uintah County Primary Election had a total of 8,494 ballots counted on Tuesday for a total preliminary voter turnout in Uintah County of 58 percent. For the Republican for House District 1 race, Kerry Gibson received the most votes with 30.05 percent followed by Blake David Moore with 29.56 percent. For the Democratic House for District 1 race, Darren Parry received 55.67 percent of the vote and Jamie Cheek received 43.8 percent. For Utah Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the Hughes/Iverson ticket received 44.76 percent of the vote followed by Cox/Henderson with 22.75 percent, Huntsman Jr./Kaufusi with 19.48 percent, and Wright/Bishop with 12.51 percent. For Utah Attorney General, Sean Reyes received 59.92 percent of the vote and David Leavitt received 36.94 percent. For Uintah County Commissioner, Brad Horrocks received 44.73 percent of the vote followed by Shawn Labrum with 32.31 percent and Troy Slaugh with 22.11 percent. For Uintah County Surveyor, Brock Slaugh received 55.38 percent of the vote and Paul Hawkes received 41.76 percent. For Uintah County Treasurer, Wendi Long received 65.47 percent of the vote and Christopher Laris received 33.66 percent. For Uintah School Board District 4, Sarah Lamb received 37.74 percent of the vote followed by Tawnya McKee with 37.42 percent and Jolynn Runolfson with 22.7 percent.
