The preliminary results for the Uintah County 2022 Republican Primary Election report that 6,095 Republican ballots were cast out of 12,915 registered Republican voters for a voter turnout of 47.19 percent. In the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Mike Lee received 4,869 votes, Becky Edwards received 728 votes, and Ally Isom received 432 votes. In the U.S. House 3 race, incumbent John Curtis received 4,527 votes and Christopher Niles Herrod received 1,345 votes. In the Uintah County Commission Seat A race, John Laursen received 4,217 votes and incumbent Bart Haslem received 1,824 votes. In the Uintah County Commission Seat B race, Sonja Norton received 2,461 votes, Wayne Simper received 1,876 votes, and Willis LeFevre received 1,732 votes. The election audit will be held June 30th at 10am in the Clerk-Auditor’s Office and election canvassing will take place July 11th in the Commission Chambers at noon. With final results, the winning candidate will officially be on the November ballot as the Republican nominee.
