While the weather could prevent plans, UDOT crews are scheduled to begin a pavement restoration project on Highway 40 this month between the Ouray turnoff and 1500 West in Vernal. The first step will be sealing existing cracks to help keep water out but the road needs to be dry enough in the first place to adhere to the existing pavement. This is prep work for a chip seal that will be done over the 12 miles of Highway 40 later on. Of course any work is dependent on cooperative weather.
