Starting today at noon, Uintah County Offices will be conducting business by appointment only. According to Monday’s press release, the Uintah County Commission signed the order closing all buildings that are owned or managed by the county to public access until further notice. The one exception to this is the Vernal Regional Airport. “All county offices remain open to serve the public,” shares Commission Chairman Brad Horrocks. “At this time, though, we need to limit the number of people coming into county facilities to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.” This means that after noon on Tuesday, March 31st, all individuals must call and make an appointment to conduct any business inside a county owned or managed building. The facilities included in the closure are the county building, Uintah County Public Safety Complex, TriCounty Health Department office in Vernal, Western Park, and the Uintah Conference Center. All are encouraged to conduct their business with these county offices by phone or online as much as possible. Certain ACH/Echeck and credit card convenience fees for payments have been waived until April 30th. Phone numbers for all the county offices are available at https://co.uintah.ut.us/.
