Uintah County Man Receives Additional Charges For Dealing Drugs

Additional charges were filed this week in 8th District Court against a Uintah County man currently serving a sentence in the Utah State Prison. 39-year-old Jacob Benjamin Clark has been in and out of jail for over 20 years on charges related to drugs, including being found Guilty of dealing drugs. His current sentence is related to drug use but escalated to the state prison after repeated violations of his probation. New charges filed on October 17th include 2 counts of 1st Degree Felony Distribution of  a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Deliver. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the incidents occurred on April 11th, 2023, prior to his current incarceration, in Uintah County. Arrangements were made with Clark from a confidential informant to purchase drugs and Clark sold the individual methamphetamine and fentanyl. The court documents note that Clark has a prior qualifying conviction for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
