A Colorado man who recently moved to Uintah County was charged this week for events, including the rape of a 15-year-old girl, that allegedly occurred at his home last week. 61-year-old Kenneth John Zufelt is charged with 1st Degree Felony Rape, Object Rape, Forcible Sodomy, and Human Trafficking of a Child, as well as misdemeanor drug charges. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, deputies were notified of a possible rape on July 19th. During their investigation, the victim disclosed Zufelt’s address, stating that he provided her with methamphetamine that she believed was laced with something because “she became debilitated” upon using it. The victim provided detectives with text messages from Zufelt and the investigation validated the claims of the brutal sexual assault. The charge of Human Trafficking is related to text messages in which the victim was offered illegal narcotics with sexual exploitation being the motive. A search warrant was approved for detectives to search Zufelt’s bedroom where the assault was reported to have occurred. Zufelt was arrested and is being held in the Uintah County Jail.
