A man was arrested in Uintah County on Sunday after it was found he was not current
with requirements in registering as a sex offender. An officer conducted a records check
on Sunday on a vehicle parked at the 7-Eleven in Maeser and found that the vehicle
showed no insurance. The vehicle left and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver,
44-year-old Bradley Scott Whitley, confirmed that the vehicle was not insured. Through a
records check with central dispatch the officer learned that Whitley was a registered sex
offender but this vehicle was not currently listed on the sex offender registry system as
was required. Whitley was arrested for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender as well as
Interference with an Arresting Officer.
