The Uintah County Library officially has a new Library Director, Karen England. The announcement states that “Karen is a passionate librarian with a lifelong love of learning. From a young age, Karen has been drawn to libraries, and she spent much of her childhood surrounded by books. In her role as a prison librarian, Karen has championed social justice initiatives and spearheaded the development of new prison libraries. She is an advocate for providing offenders with access to educational resources and opportunities for rehabilitation. Karen is always looking for ways to be more involved in the community through library initiatives. She is also committed to her own development, and her next educational goal is to learn Spanish to better serve the needs of her patrons.” England fills the Library Director position left vacant by Sam Passey who served in the position for 17 years until moving on to another career opportunity in Colorado.
