Uintah County has issued a notice of a proposed increase to property taxes. The notice states: If the proposed budget is approved, Uintah County would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 73.11 percent above last year’s property tax budgeted revenue, excluding eligible new growth. To put that into context, Uintah County shared that the tax on a $292,000 dollar residence would increase from $239.21 to $414.51 which is an increase of $175.22 per year. The tax on a $292,000 dollar business would increase from $435.08 to $753.65 which is an increase of $318.57 per year. A public hearing on the proposed tax increase will be held on November 7th at 6pm in the Uintah County building in the Commission Chambers. The 2024 budget is still being worked on with budget hearings scheduled for the Uintah County Departments on October 20th and a 2024 budget public hearing scheduled for October 24th at 3:00pm.
