Law enforcement continues the battle to get drugs off the street and arrest those responsible for distribution. Officers arrested a man this month known to be dealing drugs out of Uintah County. 55-year-old Lewis Lorenzo Rivas was arrested by an Agent with the Uintah Basin Narcotic Strike Force and was booked into jail for distribution of a controlled substance and distribution of drug paraphernalia. Since his arrest, multiple cases with drug distribution and other drug related charges have been filed in the court against him. The most recent lists the offense date as January 25th of this year and includes 11 First Degree Felony drug charges, as well as other misdemeanor charges. The Affidavit of Probable Cause for this case stated that during the execution of a search warrant, officers entered Rivas’ locked room inside a trailer and found baggies of prescription medications bagged for sale as well as a ledger in Rivas writing outlining the prescriptions and other narcotics which included Oxycodone, Fentanyl, Marijuana, and Methamphetamine, among others. Rivas was not located at the residence that day but law enforcement kept up the search and he was arrested on February 6th.
