Determining current pricing on the Western Park ice rink and amphitheater remodel was the focus of an agenda item approved during the Uintah County Commission meeting on Monday. BHI was the sole bidder on the project and will be the contractor if and when the Commission gives the project the final green light for construction. During Monday’s meeting, the Commission approved the pre-construction fee cost of $10,838 dollars for BHI to put together the current pricing on materials and the supply options available. It was emphasized that the project going forward will depend on the cost and nothing is set in stone yet. Before taking the item to a vote, Commissioner Haslem recused himself because the owner of BHI is a distant cousin to him and he said having the same last name has caused confusion and misunderstanding within the community in the past, even though he has no ownership or connection to the business. The Commission anticipates having the updated pricing and project information within 30 days.
