Among the items before the Uintah County Commission on Monday was a request to sign a non-disclosure agreement for the Bureau of Reclamation Flaming Gorge Action Plan. Uintah County Emergency Manager Tal Ehlers presented to the Commission explaining that his office requested a copy of the action plan from Flaming Gorge Dam and the County’s signing of the non-disclosure agreement is needed before it can be released. “This action plan is in the event of some type of failure to the dam,” shared Ehlers. “As the Green River runs nearly the length of Uintah County we wanted to have a copy of their plan…for mitigation purposes as well as our planning and evacuation strategies.” Any kind of flow from the dam greater than they usually have is of concern for areas downstream. The Commission signed the non-disclosure agreement.
