Two policies were considered during the Uintah County Commission meeting regarding county employee benefits. Policy 310 concerned service awards that are given at increments during years of service to Uintah County. Commissioner Horrocks spoke up in opposition to adding bonus money to employee benefits, especially to any elected official positions. After some discussion the item was tabled with the intention to meet in a work session to review all the information. The next agenda item regarded Policy 460 concerning employee HSA benefits. Tonya Craven with Human Resources explained that a wording clarification was needed. Commissioner Horrocks spoke up again in opposition, this time in matching employee contributions to their HSA. Commissioner Norton clarified that this item is already passed and included in the budget and they were working to clarify the verbiage in the existing policy. Horrocks had to leave the meeting for an appointment. After brief further discussion, Commissioner Norton and Laursen approved the proposed change on the policy.
