It was a quick meeting Tuesday for the Uintah County Commission this week. One business item on the agenda was the Utah State University Extension Cooperative Agreement. Uintah County Extension Director Cheyenne Reid and 4-H Coordinator Natasha Holtmeyer gave the Commission a report. The Extension office staff helped 24,933 people in 2023. Among their many successful programs of the year they helped agriculture producers, especially with the grasshopper and cricket issue; they passed out over 200 doses of Narcan for overdoses and provided training; and the 4H program had 344 youth registered in 2023 with 18 clubs enjoyed. The 4H youth counsel had 12 members that gave over 150 hours of community service during the year. Between the many activities and programs, the count of 4H youth served exceeded 5,600. The Commissioners were impressed with their report and approved the USU Extension Cooperative Agreement with Uintah County.
