The Uintah County Commission approved the Certified Tax Rate for Uintah County during Tuesday’s Commission meeting. The Certified Tax Rate is determined by the state to provide a taxing entity with the same amount of property tax revenue that it received in the previous tax year plus any revenue generated by additional growth in its tax base. A proposed Certified Tax Rate of .001385 was presented and approved with Commissioner Norton and Laursen voting in favor and Horrocks against. This rate is estimated to bring in a total revenue to Uintah County of $7,812,500 dollars with a new growth amount estimated at $85,000 dollars. The Commission unanimously approved the County Assessing and Collecting Rate of .000449 as presented to bring in $2,558,407 dollars to pay for the local assessing and collecting. Last year’s certified tax rate was .001490 and the assessing and collecting rate was .0004831.
