Uintah County Clerk/Auditor on Upcoming Primary Election

by | May 28, 2020 | News | 0 comments

Utah’s Primary Election will be on June 30th and Uintah County Clerk/Auditor Mike Wilkins invites community members to help spread the word that this election will be held completely by mail. There will be no early voting and no polling location on election day. Voters must visit vote.utah.gov to get registered. Ballots are expected to mail out by June 8th. While the election will be conducted entirely by mail, drop boxes will be available for depositing mail-in ballots until 8pm on Election Day. In the past, ballots had to be postmarked the day before the election but this election it can actually be postmarked on the day of the election. The last day to register to vote or change party affiliation is June 19th. In order to receive a Republican Ballot you must affiliate with the Republican Party. If an unaffiliated voter wants to receive the Democratic Ballot they must contact the Clerk’s office and let them know. Wilkins also notes that many people, especially the elderly, prefer to vote in person and may not know that this will not be an option. Please contact your neighbors and family members and help them on vote.utah.gov or refer them to the Clerk’s Office for help at 435-781-5361.
