The Uintah County Attorney’s Office has provided a snapshot of cases processed by their office over the past 5 years which provides some insight into criminal trends in the community. In 2023, District Court received 928 cases containing 2,869 charges for the year while Juvenile Court had 201 cases containing 361 charges. This was an increase of 55 cases from the year before in District Court and an increase of 58 cases in Juvenile Court from the year before. It would take rewinding 5 years to find a year that exceeds caseloads from 2023. In 2019, District Court received 991 cases containing 2,995 charges and Juvenile Court had 143 cases containing 314 charges. Of the 2019 Juvenile cases, 29 had felonies while the 2023 Juvenile cases had 19 felonies.
