There are many things focused on by the Uintah County Attorney’s Office. A snapshot of the caseloads and criminal trends in the community in 2022 show that there were a total of 873 cases containing 2,645 charges received by the Uintah County Attorney’s Office. Of those, 248 were considered person crimes and 178 were property crimes. There were 143 total juvenile cases in 2022 containing 267 charges. Of those there were 32 felonies containing 47 charges. This week, the Uintah County Attorney’s Office has been represented in Washington, D.C. where many topics of importance to Uintah County residents were discussed with members of the Utah delegation. The Attorney’s Office shared that among the topics of importance is the “continuation of our ongoing effort to educate the public of the reality of human trafficking [and] slavery in our own communities.” They were able to meet with Representative Blake Moore who also takes the issue of battling human trafficking seriously.
