A total of 3,791 ballots were cast as of November 2nd in the Uintah County General Municipal Election bringing preliminary voter turnout to 31.71 percent. In the race for Naples City Mayor, Mayor Dean Baker received 342 votes and challenger Stephanie Adams received 212 votes. For the two Naples City Council seats, incumbent Dennis Long received 367 votes, incumbent Robert Hall received 339 votes, Jessy McKee received 178 votes, and Andrew Bentley received 137 votes. Vernal City Mayor Doug Hammond received 1,181 votes and did not have a challenger. For the two Vernal City Council seats, Corey Foley received 762 votes, incumbent Ted Munford received 746 votes, Robin O’Driscoll received 485 votes, and incumbent Albert Clark received 474 votes. For the two seats on the Ashley Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District Board, Boyd Workman received 1,177 votes, Brownie Tomlinson received 1,094 votes, David Hatch received 916 votes, and Mike Davis received 753 votes. For the two seats on the Jensen Water Improvement District Board, Lucky Wall received 207 votes, Jake Wilkins received 135 votes, and Dusty Carpenter received 84 votes. Election canvassing for Uintah County will take place November 9th at 10am in the Clerk-Auditor’s Office.
