The Uintah Basin Youth Pheasant Hunt is
this Saturday, September 22nd
, at Pleasant Valley. This is the only one of these events hosted by the Division of Wildlife Resources being held in the northern zone of the state. The southern zone hunt is taking place
on September 29th.
The goal of the youth hunt is to get young hunters in the marsh with adults who can teach them responsible and ethical hunting. “To accomplish that goal,” shares DWR game bird coordinator Blair Stringham, “we’ve decided to require 16 and 17 year olds to have an adult with them.” This only applies to the youth pheasant hunt events. Participants must be 17 years old or younger and while there is a limited amount of slots available, there are still openings. To register or for more information, contact Tonya Kieffer-Selby at
