The Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra took home top honors at the ‘Music In The Parks’ festival on May 4th. The group performed before judges Saturday morning and then headed to Lagoon where the awards ceremony was held. The group received a Superior rating from the judges for their performance and was awarded 1st place among the High School String Orchestra I division. They were also thrilled to be announced as the Overall winner among all the High School Orchestras competing at the festival that day. It is worth noting that the Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra is a small but mighty group made up of just 8 musicians with 3 middle school and 5 high school aged members ranging from age 11 to 17. They are looking forward to another successful season to start in August and are seeking auditions from string instrumentalists ages 10 to 21.
