Residents of the Uintah Basin are being urged to complete the 2020 Census which only takes a few minutes to do online. The Census is conducted every ten years by mandate of the United States Constitution and is a crucial tool used by demographers, historians, and is used to allocate funding. The results of the 2020 Census help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next ten years. This includes funding for local schools, programs to support rural areas, housing assistance for the elderly, infrastructure, employment training, healthcare, and more. It is important that EVERYONE be counted in the Uintah Basin and any information gathered by the United States Census Bureau, by law, cannot be shared making it safe for all to participate. Help serve your local community by ensuring an accurate count of all our citizens. In case more motivation is needed, just know it is mandated by law. If you do not have your Census number that was sent in the mail you can still complete it online by entering your address. Everyone is encouraged to visit census2020.utah.gov to take part.
