Uintah Basin Lecturer Named One Of USU’s Lecturers Of The Year

A USU Uintah Basin lecturer has received recognition from USU statewide. John Barton has been a lecturer at USU Uintah Basin since 1988 and this year is named the USU Department of History’s Lecturer of the Year. Barton teaches courses in Utah, United States, and Native American history. “Students sense John’s content passion as he eloquently weaves together historical stories that inspire them to think critically about historical content and how it impacts their current lives and world events,” shares USU Uintah Basin associate vice president David Law. “John loves his work and receives immense satisfaction knowing that he is positively impacting the next generation of historians and professionals.” Barton says he is humbled and honored by this award. He will now be among those considered for the College of Humanities and Sciences Lecturer of the Year award.
