Instances of RSV and other respiratory illnesses have been through the roof around the state and Uintah Basin Healthcare has issued the following tips as prevention is key: Make sure vaccinations are up to date. Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your upper shirt sleeve, not your hands. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way. Avoid close contact, such as kissing, shaking hands, and sharing cups and eating utensils, with others. Clean frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs and mobile devices. If you are sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them. And finally, wash your hands often, and keep your kids home from daycare/school if they are ill.
