Uintah Basin Healthcare Starts “Admire the Survivors”

“Admire the Survivors” is a local campaign of not just raising awareness of breast cancer but a chance for the Basin to celebrate those that have survived their battle with cancer. In the U.S. a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer on average every two minutes. That means that in 2019 alone 270,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed.  There are currently more than 3.1 million breast cancer survivors and Uintah Basin Healthcare has partnered with Urban Tulip Studios and Ooh Lala and Friends, to present the beauty, the grace, and the stories of five local survivors. Destiny, Nancy, Kim, Amanda, and Pala were each given a makeover and studio sessions to capture each woman’s “inner and outer body”.  The goal for the campaign is to “inspire other women to be comfortable in their own skin whether they have any form of cancer or anything that has caused their body to look different from how society says we should look.” Visit
